AntiMal is a European Integrated Project for the “Development of New Drugs for the Treatment of Malaria” funded by the European Commission under the sixth frame work programme and coordinated by the Liverpool School for Tropical Medicine, UK. The project comprises leading groups of malaria researchers from a consortium of 31 institutions from 10 European and 2 African countries (including 6 industrial partners, 4 from Europe and two from Africa). AntiMal’s aim is to exploit new scientific and political opportunities to secure the development of a portfolio of viable novel antimalarial Drugs.

Training is conducted through the AntiMal International PhD Programme, which is organised and operated in collaboration with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. It is independent of, but modelled on the successful EMBL International PhD Programme.
