Chris Parkinson

Chris Parkinson holds more than 20 years of experience in the chemistry field as an academic and also as chief research scientist in the AECI research and development department before joining the CSIR in 1999. He has received several awards for his work, his most recent being the CSIR Innovator award in 2000 and the Working Across Boundaries award in 2004. Parkinson is a member and advisor to the Molecular Sciences Institute at the University of Witwatersrand, the American Chemical Society and the South African Chemical Institute. He has also held membership at the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. He is currently associated with several local universities as a postgraduate degree examiner.
